Chateau Saint Pierre’s 300 year history as a wine estate has been varied to say the least, awarded 4th Grand Cru Classe in the 1855 classification, the wine was celebrated until the 1920’s when it went downhill due to bad management, the wines remained somewhat mediocre until Henri Martin purchased the property in 1982, this was when the true potential was revealed and over the next 40 years Saint Pierre became the most improved property in Bordeaux, now producing wines equal to its prestigious neighbours of Ducru Beaucaillou, Beychevelle and Gruard Larose but at a fraction of the price. Enjoy this wine aged from 8 to 30 years and more.

Of the three great Leoville estates, Poyferre is arguably the most modern and approachable in style . This was the vision of Didier Culvelier, when he took over management of his family’s property in 1979, and over the next 4 decades he improved the vineyards, the winemaking facilities and the vat cellars, and in turn the quality of the wine so as to be ranked amongst the all-time greats. On Didier’s retirement in 2020, his niece Sara Lecompte Cuvelier took over management and she continues to improve this great wines reputation. To sum up in four words: elegant, powerful, refined & age-worthy. Enjoy the wine between 5 and 30 years of aging.
