Chateau Saint Pierre’s 300 year history as a wine estate has been varied to say the least, awarded 4th Grand Cru Classe in the 1855 classification, the wine was celebrated until the 1920’s when it went downhill due to bad management, the wines remained somewhat mediocre until Henri Martin purchased the property in 1982, this was when the true potential was revealed and over the next 40 years Saint Pierre became the most improved property in Bordeaux, now producing wines equal to its prestigious neighbours of Ducru Beaucaillou, Beychevelle and Gruard Larose but at a fraction of the price.
