Taking its name from its location on Pauillac’s esteemed Bages Plateau and the Liberal family, who owned the estate in the 18th century. This estate earned Fifth Growth status in the 1855 Classification and has since built a reputation for producing wines of excellent value and character. In 1982, the estate was acquired by the Taillan Group and overseen by Claire Villars-Lurton, whose leadership has brought focus on sustainability. Under her guidance, the vineyards have transitioned to organic and biodynamic farming, enhancing both soil vitality and terroir expression. The wines reflect great depth and structure and age beautifully over decades.
